Serral Wins WCS Austin

The stars shone brightly at WCS Austin as Serral conquered the field to take the $20,000 top prize and 3000 WCS points marked for the winner. Since Serral was already qualified for the WCS Global Finals thanks to his win at WCS Leipzig, his victory in Austin means the fifth place finisher in the WCS Circuit standings will take the guaranteed spot in the Global Finals. The weekend was filled with dominant performances with the final foursome providing the majority of the tension. Serral’s composure kept the Finnish Zerg one step ahead of his opponents throughout and marks the second straight year he’s taken the event.

The epic conclusion to WCS Austin takes us into the heart of the 2018 WCS season with WCS Valencia, WCS Montreal and GSL vs. The World coming up over the next few months. Serral  may hold sway over the WCS Circuit series for now, but there are dozens of hungry contenders ready to make their names this summer.

The next stop for many WCS Austin competitors is the second season of WCS Challenger in North America and Europe beginning June 6.
